E3 STEM is a dynamic professional community with a shared vision of enhancing education through the principles of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) epistemology.
The members of E3 STEM, including experienced educators and researchers, contribute significantly to the project. Their backgrounds in physics, computational physics, computer science, and educational technology, combined with extensive experience in curriculum development, teacher training, and innovative educational methods, are invaluable assets. This expertise is instrumental in enhancing the project’s goals of promoting a deeper understanding of climate change effects on various geomorphological environments. E3 STEM’s involvement guarantees a comprehensive approach to the subject matter, blending theoretical knowledge with practical application and cutting-edge educational technologies.

Sarantos Psycharis
A highly experienced and devoted Professor at the Higher Education Institute –School of Pedagogical and Technological Education –ASPETE- in the cognitive area «Education Applications of Computational Sciences”, who has made a significant contribution to many educational institutions throughout Europe as Professor and visiting Professor. Professor Psycharis has published more than 200 papers in prestigious journals and has established various European-wide improved academic practices for Undergraduates, Postgraduates, and Fellow Professors alike. Throughout his career, he has also served as an Advisor to the Greek Minister of Education on issues related to the integration of ICT in Education, and Teacher Education Policies. He was also the Coordinator, representing the Greek Government – for the European Network of Teacher Education Policies (ENTEP), and for two years President of the Network and Evaluator for European Commission. He was Director for a Master course for STEM Education (2015-2028).He was the Director of the Master programme “STEM in Education” at ASPETE (2015-18). He was also Rector of ASPETE. He is President of the Hellenic Education Society of STEM, (Ε3 STEM) and has worked as principal manager and researcher on behalf of ASPETE and E3STEM on European Projects. Anna-Maria Galani
Anna-Maria Galani is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Digital Arts and Cinema at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). She is a creative coder and developer specializing in interactive technologies and creative education. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and a Master’s degree in Computer Science, with a focus on new media technologies.
Currently, she works as a freelancer, producing new media projects for several companies across Europe. Additionally, she serves as an external collaborator at E3STEM, where she focuses on new technologies in education, particularly augmented reality and AI educational tools. By leveraging these tools, she combines algorithmic patterns with technological innovations in real-time to create cutting-edge educational tools.
Aristidis Paliouras
Aristidis Paliouras holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Crete, a Master’s degree in Computer Science (from the Economics University,https://www.aueb.gr/en) and a Master’s Degree in STEM Education (Teaching in Science, Information Technology, Maths and Engineering) from the Pedagogical Department of A.SP.AI.T.E. (https://www.aspete.gr/index.php/en/).
He has been teaching Computer Science in Primary and Secondary Education since 2000, and since 2017 he is the Director of the 3rd Laboratory Center of East Attica (Technical Vocational School).
He is the author of books on Robotics, Arduino and Scratch 2 and has lectured in Greek and foreign conferences on educational topics. He has been a partner of ITYE DIOFANTOS (http://www.cti.gr/en/) in many projects aimed at developing Learning Objects for Photodento (the Greek Digital Learning Object Repository) concerning the Computer Science Education (Primary and Secondary).
Since 2017 he has been involved in the ITYE DIOFANTOS (http://www.cti.gr/en/) English Language Development Team for the development, maintenance and updating of Learning Objects for Photodentro OER (the Greek Digital Learning Object Repository) concerning the teaching of English Language (Primary and Secondary).
His professional interests lie in the use of ICT in education, STEM methodology and Educational Robotics.
He has participated in several seminars, conferences, workshops and teacher training sessions on topics such as: teacher training, adult education and lifelong learning, distance learning, ICT in education and computing in Primary Education.
Marilena Andrikopoulou
Marilena is a Mathematician with a Master’s degree in STEM Education, who loves teaching and designing alternative lessons in STEAM fields that believes that embodiment is key in the learning process. She has collaborated with NGOs and Universities as STEM Director and Education Manager, where she was responsible for designing STEM workshops and long-term programs, developing the educational material and teaching guide-books, coordinating and training of the educators. She has directed the educational content of Generation Next platform, where you can also see Marilena in the STEM video lessons as an educator. She is working as a Mathematics teacher and as a STEM educator in the fields of Natural Sciences and Educational Technology, always focusing on exploratory and experiential learning. She has also participated in dance and theater improvisation training programs, the principles of which she uses in her workshops. She has been trained and evolved within the Makerspace philosophy, using Lasercut, 3D printing, woodworking and sewing to make her ideas come to life. Currently she is a board member of “Hellenic Educational Society of STEM – E3STEM”, a teacher in Mathematics and Technology, a project manager of educational programs collaborating with universities, institutions, and organizations. She has also been involved with the project management of Erasmus+ KA2 programs, among others the “Maths in Motion”, “ TRACE- Tracing Climate Change” , “Augmented Reality for Schools”, where she combines her passion for travelling and collaborating with educators from different cultures. She has also participated in several Erasmus+ training programs, designed for educators and youth workers. In her free time she loves climbing, traveling and volunteering! She has been a volunteer to Europe and Africa, from Science Festivals, TEDx Academy to Makerfairs and community service! She is always looking for opportunities to be among active people and develop areas that fascinates her.
Konstantinos Kalovrektis
Konstantinos Kalovrketis holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Piraeus and a second PhD in Humanities and Social Sciences from the University of Thessaly, Greece. He completed his first postdoctoral research (PostDoc I) at the University of Piraeus, Department of Informatics Science, focusing on biosignal process measurements. His second postdoctoral stint (PostDoc II) was at the University of Thessaly, Department of Informatics and Telecommunication, on the topic ‘STEM for Girls’. He holds an MA in Education and an MSc in Embedded Systems. Currently, he is an adjunct lecturer (PD407) at the University of Thessaly, Digital Systems Department, and is engaged in a third postdoctoral project (PostDoc III) on the topic of Next Generation Digital Systems with an emphasis on Open Hardware Technologies and Embedded Measurement Systems for Engineering Education.
He is the author and co-author of more than 60 papers published in international journals and conference proceedings. Some of his works include topics on Measurement Systems, ECG and ZigBee sensors, EMG and ZigBee sensors, Physical Computing, Sensors, Data Acquisition, Data Analysis, Wireless Sensor Networks, and IoT in STEM education. Additionally, he has authored and co-authored more than 18 academic books.
He is a reviewer for many international scientific journals and has served on the scientific committees of numerous international conferences. He is an evaluator and certifier for the General Secretariat for Research and Technology in Greece. Previously, he was a mentor for the Open Technologies Alliance (GFOSS) in the Google Summer of Code (GSoC) and a coordinator for the STEAM committee by GFOSS. He is an editorial board member for several international journals and conference proceedings.
His research interests include electrophysiology, data acquisition systems for medical applications, wireless sensor networks (WSN), IoT applications and protocols, machine learning, ICT in education, STEAM education, development of hardware/software for IoT in STEAM, embedded systems, real-time measurement systems, control systems, FPGAs, sensors, educational robotics, remote labs, and pedagogical curriculum development and instruction.
